So, The New TV Season

Is pretty unimpressive so far. Disappointing and unimpressive. And, yes I watch TV (because we are BORING, remember) and no, we don't have cable or satellite or anything like HBO or Showtime or any of the other channels that actually have good shows on to watch. Because not only are we too cheap to pay for TV, we are also going to be way too poor starting November 1st when Keith joins the incredibly huge number of unemployed people.

Anyway, I was looking forward to the Vegas show because I love Mad Men (no cable, so we have to wait until the DVDs come out each year to watch) and Las Vegas in the 60's sounded like it could be as good as Mad Men. Sadly, it is not. I can't get past Dennis Quaid or however you spell his name and his one facial expression. Sneer and try to look tough. I watched the first episode last week and gave it another try this week and got so bored that I turned it off before it even ended because I just didn't care who killed who.

And then there is the new Elementary show, a takeoff of the wonderful British Sherlock show, and I can't decide if I like this show or not. It's interesting and the character is quirky, but I just don't care a whole lot about who killed who on this show, either.

I refuse to watch Revolution because it's just stupid that everyone would have shiny new crossbows and swords rather than guns that they stole from the gun store after the world ended. And if the world has ended as we know it, why are they still able to get the latest fashions from Ambercrombie and Fitch? And brand new fashionable boots? I tried to watch this show and turned it off after the first ten minutes.

I don't like any of the reality shows other than Shark Tank and I like Shark Tank because it's kind of fun to see some of the products that people invent. They kind of drag things out too long, though, in an attempt to create drama where there is none.

I won't watch Survivors or Bachelors and Bachelorettes or Big Brothers or Dancing with the Stars. Or as Keith calls it, Dancing with the Douchebags. Those kind of shows just annoy me way too much.

So, what do I like to watch this season so far? The new show about British midwives in the late 50s on PBS on Sunday nights is really wonderful, and after that is The Good Wife, which I've liked since the beginning.

Monday nights are the CBS comedies and Tuesday are the Fox comedies, and Thursday night are the NBC comedies, and other than that, there really isn't all that much worth watching. But we watch anyway because WE ARE BORING.

We did watch Homeland on DVD and now we have to wait a whole year before we can see what happens in the current season. If you haven't seen Homeland, do watch because it is an excellent show.

You need to watch tv on Sunday nights. WE have just recently gotten into Once Upon a Time, which is really rally good. And then Jeremy watched the first season of Revenge on Netflix and so now we are hooked on that also. We have the netflix online thing which is only $8.00 a month and we tend to watch a lot of stuff on there. I definatly recommend Once Upon a Time though its really well done.
