Odds and Ends

Remember the walmart class action lawsuit? And the check that I just got for 500 and something dollars and how I thought it would be way cool if the checks just kept on coming? Well, yesterday's mail brought me ANOTHER CHECK! from walmart. Unfortunately this one does say that it's the final payment from the lawsuit, but it's for 362.00 and after all is said and done, getting four checks for a total of somewhere around $1000.00 is not a bad day's pay for just signing my name on a piece of paper.

Moral of the story: If you get paperwork in the mail for a class action lawsuit and all you have to do is sign your name, by all means SIGN IT!

And I have a solution for some of the debt mess and all the f#&king around that Congress is doing. How about all of you up there in Washington take a pay cut? We all know that you are highly overpaid and you get all sorts of free stuff and maybe if you learned what it's like to have to live on a personal budget you might just get it when it comes to the federal budget.

But, no, better to just take social security money away from old people and keep moving up the retirement age in the hopes that they'll just work themselves to death first and then you won't have to pay them at all.

What else? Not much, it's been a very very slow week sales wise and when sales get slow my enthusiasm for working on my shops slows down, too. Kind of like why bother if the stuff just sits there.

I know most of the country is like sweating to death right now (global warming anyone?) but for some strange jet stream reason, we are having the most beautiful weather this week. We may even hit some record LOWS for this week in July, with temps only in the 80s. Instead of the usual 90s and 100s. It will go back to normal next week though, with another heat wave inevitably coming our way.

In the meantime, it is really nice to be able to open up the windows and go outside.

The cats also enjoy it when they can lay in front of the screen and listen to the birds sing and feel a cool breeze ruffling their fur. Until the dogs next door start barking and I slam shut the door in frustration that is.
