More on the Floor

We had a stove in the living room last weekend. To go along with the refrigerator that is still there in the corner.

Keith worked on the floor all afternoon on Saturday, then all evening, then I went to bed and woke up in the morning and he was still up and working on the floor. All night. And it still wasn't done. And he made himself sick from breathing in all the glue fumes all night. So he spent Sunday in bed.

If we ever ever ever get inspired to put in any new floors anywhere ever ever ever again, we are going to hire a professional. It sounds easy to put in a floor, at least the box of flooring makes it seem so, but this is a job best left to someone who does this for a living.

The first time Mimi curled up on the vacuum cleaner cord I thought it was just a fluke, but apparently vacuum cleaner cords are comfy because she did it again.

Watching Movies

I rented a couple of movies from Red Box on Friday night, I'm loving Red Box and there is one right outside the Foods Co store that is near the little postal annex that I walk to most days, so it's really convenient and cheap and I don't even have to go inside the store.

So what did we watch?

2012. Which has some great special effects but other than that kind of stunk. I was getting bored with it towards the end and was rooting for the tsunami to just drown everybody already. Disaster movies always have to get all preachy and oh the humanity and can't we all just get along and the whole thing with the gate not closing and the one guy getting squished in the gears and the hero having to go unstick the gears and they are on a collision course with the mountain and if they don't close the gate everyone is going to die and I just didn't care anymore at that point.

It does kind of make you wonder with all these earthquakes recently, but if the world is going to end in 2012 there is not a whole heck of a lot we can do about it and if you're going to build yourself an ark you'd better get started now.

Law Abiding Citizen was much much better, a little on the gruesome side, but a good thriller that kept you guessing.

Watching movies was probably the most exciting part of our weekend. We are boring boring people.

Bored

We are trying to think of something to do today. I've even googled things to do in Bakersfield and come up with a whole lot of not much. Apparently one of the biggest highlights of Bakersfield is the museum at Buck Owens Crystal Palace. It's going to be 102 today, so we are thinking that an outdoor activity maybe isn't such a good idea. And everything we can think of to do outdoors involves lots of driving to get there.

Drive up to Tehachapi and wander around? Drive over to Lake Ming and wander around? Drive up to the Sequoias and wander around? It's too hot to drive anywhere and we don't have the gas to waste, so I think we'll wait until the weather cools off and we can afford the gas to go somewhere. Damn, this town is boring.

So, Keith is napping and I'm going to share a Zibbet shop with you.

This is ValZderoArtJewellery, and no jewelry is not spelled wrong, she is from Australia and that is how they spell jewellery down there.

She paints and makes jewelry/jewellery with her artwork. This is called Woodland Spirit.

So pretty!

This necklace is made with her artwork, she puts it in a silver pendant tray and seals it with a glaze.
