Hiding And Some Frozen Cheeseburger Sandwiches

Hiding.
 You're doing it wrong.
If I can't see you then you can't see me.

Either that or her rather rotund body doesn't fit under the bed anymore, just her head.

Keith and I were picking up a few things at Vons the other day after visiting the bank that is conveniently located inside the most expensive grocery store in town. I was just going to get three things, some cat litter that was on sale, some eggs, and some coffee creamer. Since Keith was with me, it ended up being quite a bit more than just those three things of course. He wanted to get some frozen entrees that he could take on the road with him, frozen entrees that he would probably take and forget to eat, or try to eat and they would be kind of nasty like frozen entrees often are, or just eat and then still go out to a restaurant or get fast food during his layover in Barstow.

But, whatever, if he wants some frozen entrees then frozen entrees we shall get.

I did buy a few for me that I haven't tried yet. Vons has actually come out with some low carb frozen entrees, something that you never ever see. All of the frozen entrees seem to rely heavily on pastas or rice or other starches like that. These ones not so much, I got a shepherds pie with cauliflower 'mashed potatoes' on top, a cheesy chicken something or other, and one other that I can't even remember what it is now, but they just might come in handy for those nights when I really don't want to cook something just for me. Which is most nights actually.

I also found these Vons brand low calorie microwave sandwich things and though they might be worth a try. The carb count is listed as 12 per serving, which isn't bad, and from the picture on the front of the box, it looks like you get a nice little sandwich that has been cut in half to show you what's in there.

But, no, you do not get both halves of that sandwich for the 160 calories and 12 grams of carbs.

This is what you get.
Half of a sandwich. And it's not very big, either. It's maybe 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. About four bites maybe.

Here is how it looks after microwaving.
Keep in mind that the plate here is not a dinner size plate, more like a small salad size plate.

It wasn't bad as far as the taste goes, but you'd probably want to add some hamburger fixings to it, it's basically just a little beef patty with some cheese on it in a pita bread.

Poor Lucy is still terrified to come into the front yard, I had to take her food out back this morning because she just does not enjoy having a bird screeching at her while she is trying to eat her breakfast. Last night I lured her out front and then sat with her so she could eat in relative peace, but that bird yelled the whole time and even scared me a little when it started to swoop right at us.

I left my window open last night and was woken up by the same mockingbird as soon as the sun started coming up.

I tried the shepherd's pie thing, and it was't too bad, though I wasn't quite sure about the cauliflour topping at first. The taste was fairly good, and there were quite a few veggies along with the beef. I got a chili one and a chicken teriyaki rice bowl to try.
