Cold Feet

Well, it's even more official. I really am old.

My feet get very very cold in the winter time, so cold that I have found it necessary to wear slippers around the house every day. Slippers that sometimes I'm even tempted to wear when I go anywhere out of the house, but I'm not quite that far gone yet despite it being perfectly okay to wear slippers when you go to Walmart here in Bakersfield. Give me a few years and I'll be wearing the pajama pants to go with the slippers to Walmart.

Anyway, I got some slipper boots at yes, Walmart, this year and wore them quite comfortably until I noticed a rash on each leg down where the sides of the slipper boots rub against my legs. Despite lotions and creams the rash wasn't going away and in fact seemed to be getting worse each day. I'm not sure if it's the slippers or my Ugg boots causing the rash, but I'm figuring that the fake fur lining in both slipper boots and Ugg boots probably gets a little nasty after months of wearing every day, so maybe I should stop wearing both for a while and see if it clears up.

Just what you wanted to read about today, somebody's rash.

I still needed some slippers, though, because my feet get cold and I get cranky and I don't want to wear regular shoes around the house all day, not that I have many regular shoes to choose from, just some crocs at this point and while they are comfortable, I still don't want to wear them all day. However, it seems like most stores only carry slippers before the holidays, being great gifts for those old people with cold feet like me. Can you find a pair of slippers at the beginning of February? Not really, the only pair I could find were over at Payless and were on clearance for $5.00 which is the only reason I bought them (that and my cold feet) because they are definitely not my style.

I feel like either one of those old ladies who wears too much makeup or Liberace wearing these things. They are kind of SPARKLY.

But, I will wear them until the weather warms up and next year I will plan ahead and buy two pairs of slippers before they are all gone from store shelves.
