Mmmm....

We're having cow butt for dinner. Yep, I was wandering through the nasty Foods Co yesterday to get some lettuce and a few other things and right in the middle of the aisle was a display of big packs of big hunks of cow meat. I was looking at the big packs of cow meat and saw that they had a pack of two rump roasts for $8.65 and I was doing the math in my head and thinking that $4.00 and some change for each big hunk of cow meat to put in the crock pot was not a bad price. Then I got to thinking about how they call it rump roast when rump really means butt. So we are eating cow butt tonight. How appetizing.

Tomorrow we'll probably have some chicken boobs.

I went to run some errands on the bike this morning, first going to walmart to get some more shelf liner. Something about January and fresh starts and new years and all that makes me want to organize and clean stuff. Weird, I know. My cupboards have had the same shelf liner in them since we moved into this house, what, 6 or 7 years ago, so it was time for fresh new liner. And also time to get into the dark corners of the cupboards and see what kind of mismatched tupperware and stupid appliances that you buy and use once were hiding back there. I did throw a lot of stuff out, a rusty wok that was fun to use a few times but kind of a pain and I'd rather just use a regular skillet, the aforementioned mismatched tupperware, and a blender that was kind of crusty looking and hadn't been used since the last time I had a margarita which was a long time ago since I don't drink anymore. Not because I'm a recovering alcoholic or anything, mostly because I like not feeling all fuzzy and shouldn't drink anyway because it's not good for diabetics and people who aren't supposed to have carbs or sugar and all that.

Anyway, I thought I was all done with the new shelf lining project but then realized that I missed the little skinny useless cupboard that we keep the cooking oil and tea bags in and also the wider but awkward to get to cupboard that the coffee lives in. So, after a few weeks I finally remembered to get another roll of shelf liner. We'll see how long it takes me to get it in the cupboard now. Because my lets clean things out phase is kind of over with.

Then, after bringing the walmart stuff home it was over to Target for the cat food and the other stuff I didn't have enough room in the bike basket for on the trip to walmart. Now I'm tired.

But, I don't have to cook later today because the cow butt is cooking away in the crock pot. I don't know if I've mentioned these yet, but they make crock pot plastic liner bag things that are AWESOME! Just toss the mess away and no scrubbing involved.

I am with you on the rusty wok that was fun a few times, but yah... and I didn't know you could buy crock pot bags, that's so cool! I've tried using boiler bags a time or two, but yay for ones made just for crock pots! :)
