Another Exciting Weekend in Recession Land

Yawn.

We splurged and walked over to IHOP for breakfast yesterday morning. We had to find an umbrella first because it was cloudy and sprinkly and we figured if we didn't find an umbrella it would start pouring, better safe than sopping wet. Everybody else in town decided to go to IHOP for breakfast too, that place was packed and we waited for about 15 minutes. Usually we wouldn't wait that long for a mediocre breakfast, but since we made the effort to walk instead of drive over there, we'd wait.

The one thing that I do like about IHOP breakfast (besides the pancakes) is the carafe of coffee that they bring to your table. Smart. You never have to wave your coffee cup hoping that someone will run over with the coffee pot and the waitresses don't have to waste their time getting everyone more coffee. I was also impressed with how fast our food got to our table considering how busy they were.

The rest of the day was spent just messing around, Keith out in the garage, me in the workroom. Then after dinner, the TV went on. I'd forgotten that it was Oscar night, not that I really care who wins what, so Keith flipped back and forth from the Oscars to Dateline. Was anyone surprised that Heath Ledger got the Oscar? No? OF COURSE the dead guy always gets the Oscar!

Does anyone remember who got Oscars last year? No? Me either, and who really cares?

I was glad that Heath Ledger got the Oscar. I thought he was a wonderful actor. I didn't watch any of the Academy Awards, I just waited until the list of who won was out on the internet and read it there.

Oscars huh. Whoopee. We snorkled, swam, kayaked, drank beer and boogie boarded. Much better than sitting watching actors clap for each other.
