Last Day at Work for Keith

And no work for me in the immediate future. I got my thanks but no thanks email from Target this morning so apparently I'm not even qualified to sell popcorn. At least they email you to tell you no instead of just leaving you wondering like everybody else does. Oh, well, I didn't really want the job anyway.

And today is Keith's last day at work, they are going to have a barbecue today and a long meeting with probably speeches and crap and plaques and they are supposed to actually get their final checks handed to them instead of being mailed. We made cupcakes last night for him to take to the barbecue, boxed mix cupcakes and instead of frosting them I just got frosting that comes in a spray can like cheese. Clever stuff, that. It's always hard to transport frosted cupcakes and I figured everyone could just frost their own. I can just see some of the guys piling that frosting up on their cupcake just like little kids would, though, thereby leaving no frosting for anyone else.

The rest of this week will probably be spent figuring out how to apply for unemployment and seeing what sort of job seeking counseling they offer. Fun!

It will be very strange having Keith home in the daytime, having an extra person here all day will take some getting used to. Fortunately there is a long list of projects he needs to finish just in case we have to sell the house and move somewhere else for a job or whatever.

I'm trying to get inspired to make holiday things for the shop, but sales have been kind of slow these past few weeks, and getting inspired while sales are slow is hard. But, I'm hoping for that Christmas rush so we will see how it goes the next few months.

Anyway, here's to unemployment and a little vacation for Keith!
