I tried to get some pictures to prove it really happened, but they all came out kind of blurry because somebody was a little upset and wouldn't sit still, but Pepper actually got a bath Friday afternoon.
Keith was very brave and put her in the bathtub where she behaved much better than expected, and nobody was clawed to shreds, and Pepper got a bath to help get rid of all the fleas and the flea droppings that were making her tail end so sensitive. She was quite confused about the whole thing and spent hours after her bath looking rather bedraggled and licking herself, but by the next day she seemed like she felt a lot better and you could actually get your hand near her back end without fear of it being bitten off.
And that was the most exciting thing that happened all weekend.
We did some cooking with one dinner coming out very good and one that was back to my disaster can't even eat it dinners. I had found some tri tip on sale at Vons that was already seasoned with Pappy's seasoning and while I'm not real big on beef anymore I know Keith likes his cow meat so I got one to try on the grill. And it was delicious. So we went back and got more to put in the freezer.
Then I got some hamburger to make meatballs and they were the worst meatballs in the history of meatball making, something about the texture of the hamburger was really disgusting and way too chewy and I couldn't even eat mine, and I have decided that I will never make ground beef meatballs ever again.
I also browsed salad recipes on the internet since it's getting hot outside and salad with dinner sounds good, and I found a corn salad that was promised to be so delicious that you will eat the whole thing before you can even get it on the table, but it was a little disappointing. Edible, but not something where you can't wait to serve it again because it was so good. It was corn, red and green peppers, onion, grated cheese and mayo and you put fritos corn chips in right before serving and like I said, edible but nothing to write home about.
So, other than a clean Pepper and some time wasted cooking, and some grocery shopping done, just another weekend gone by.
