What I'm Doing This Week

Not cooking, that's for sure!

Yesterday I did a little bit of housework and am seriously thinking about just waiting until Friday to do any more since Keith won't be home until Friday night and he doesn't usually notice that I've done any housework anyway, he's just used to a halfway clean house all the time. Then he makes a mess in my halfway clean house.

I talked to him a couple of times yesterday, once during his morning break and once after class was over for the day. They gave everyone a grip bag with all kinds of stuff for work inside, a safety vest, jacket, hard hat, safety glasses and a face shield for welding. We are like how cool that a company actually provides equipment for their employees, he's so used to working for companies who operate on a shoestring and either buy the cheapest equipment possible or make you buy your own. They also got vouchers for new work boots and were given time to go get them. He has 45 days before he has to take the test that he has to pass to keep the job, so he'll be doing lots of studying in the meantime. They won't send him to Kansas just yet, he has to pass the test first which makes sense because why spend the money sending him all the way there and training him if he doesn't make the cut. Speaking of making the cut, they interviewed like 1200 guys for this job so he is really lucky that he got it.

I've been working on some gift boxes and bags and some gift tags. Sales were pretty good this month, the best month in quite a while, but this week looks to be very slow, maybe partly because I suspended overseas shipping since I'm not about to ride the bike the 7 miles on dangerous roads to the post office and then the 7 miles on dangerous roads back while Keith is gone with the car, and then maybe partly because everybody is usually broke at the end of the month if they are anything like us because it's house payment time.

So, here's some new stuff for the shop:

I got a few new (old) vintage childrens books to get re-inspired to make soldered pendants again:

Some wild cat pillow gift boxes:

Fancy gift bags:

Gift tags. These are fun to make, I found ready made plain white tags over at Michaels to collage on.

And some pillow gift boxes with vintage florals.

I was just over on my old kitty blog thinking about deleting it but there are so many pictures of all the cats that I think I'll start the blog up again and talk about cat stuff over there.

So come on over: http://festivalofelines.blogspot.com/

Glad to hear that you had a good month this month, mine was slooowww... but it gave me time to play in the garden a little when it hasn't been raining, and otherwise get a grip. LOL!

I love the tags & bags you're making too, yay! ♥
