It's Always Something

I have nothing to wear. Quite literally. Because I haven't done the laundry yet. I tried to do the laundry, I really did, and the first load of clothes were merrily agitating away in the washing machine when it just stopped. Full of water and really really wet clothes. And it wouldn't start again. So I had to wring out all the clothes and put them in big plastic bags so that Keith can bail out the water in the washer today and see if he can fix it. We are hoping it is just a belt but who knows.

I don't want to have to go buy something to wear and I REALLY don't want to have to go sit in a laundromat after dragging extremely heavy bags of wet clothes into the laundromat, so I'm hoping that he will be able to fix the washer today.

Then this morning he goes out into the garage and there is water all over the floor. From the pipe above the water heater so right now we have no hot water which we don't really need since we can't wash the clothes. We're just glad it wasn't the whole water heater because those aren't cheap and they are a huge pain in the ass to have to replace yourself and there is no way we could afford to pay somebody to replace it, so...good thing it looks like it is just a pipe.

We did wake up today to our promised cooler weekend, though, all of the windows are open and not so fresh (polluted) air is wafting through the house.

And that's about it. Another week gone by.

UPDATE on the washer issue. Keith pulled it out into the backyard and couldn't figure out what was wrong, there is no belt to break and the timer was okay and we may have to just call a repairman (nooooo!!!) and then a stroke of luck! He figured out that the little switch in the door that turns the washer back on after you open the lid or whatever was broken. No big deal at all and he's on his way to the parts store to get another switch. Which hopefully they will have in stock. Because I need to do laundry.
