Heat Wave

Every radio station on the East coast is undoubtedly playing the oldie but goodie Summer in the City.

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

Because if you haven't heard yet, they are having a heat wave over there. Their temps are up in the 100's, kind of like every summer here in Bakersfield, but at least here 'it's a dry heat', or whatever.

East coasters are being advised to drink plenty of water during the heat wave. No kidding. We know about the dehydration thing way out West here, because, like I said, our summers are always hot. But it's a dry heat.

Anyway as they were talking about drinking water on the news, Keith said that he hadn't drunk enough water that day, he gets to working and sometimes it's difficult to stop welding or whatever and grab his water jug. So, I came up with a solution. We are going to put one of these hats on top of his hard hat and put water bottles on each side. Think his boss will go for it?


As I was searching for a beer can hat picture, I came across these 'fun' hats for the next time you want to amaze your friends with your sense of humor. I'm wondering if I should make some of these to sell on Etsy, because they'd probably make the front page.


This guy looks like he's having fun wearing these hats, right?

And, while watching TV last night (America's Got Talent- yay!) there was a commercial for M&Ms with- wait for it- PRETZELS INSIDE! I am so there! Whoever thought of this one down at the M&M factory is an absolute GENIUS!

Oh, and speaking of America's Got Talent, why oh why did they let the tone deaf scary lady with the keyboard go through?

I haven't figured out who's going to win yet, no sure thing like last year with the chicken catcher guy, and how is he doing these days anyway? I do like the girl with the Sarah McLauglan voice, and the two guy singers who kind of look alike, but other than that, no clear cut favorites yet, but it's early still. I never thought I'd get hooked on a show like this, but hey, it's summer, and it's hot here, and there is nothing much else to do in the evening but watch a silly talent show.
