Back To School

All the kids here in Bakersfield went back to school this week. School seems to start earlier and earlier each year, none of this waiting until after Labor Day like when I was a kid.

I see them on their way to school each morning, walking down the street to either catch the bus on the corner or walk up to the elementary school about 1/2 mile away. And then, again on their way home each afternoon.

It makes me so very glad that my kids are all grown up and I don't have to do the getting the kids to school in the morning always in a big rush because I've got to get to work too thing anymore. Not to mention the PTA meetings and back to school nights and selling candy and checking homework and yelling at the kids to get to bed because they have to get up for school in the morning.

No, don't miss that too much, I'm content to just watch the fresh faced kids with their new shoes and backpacks walking down the street each morning knowing that I'm not the one who has to get them up out of bed, washed, dressed, fed, and teeth brushed, lunch packed, homework in the backpack, and off to school.

Hi there!

I found you in the "Shop Local" section of Etsy and wanted to let you know...I was thinking about submitting an article to the Southwest Voice about Etsy featuring Bakersfield shops. Is there one picture or item from your shop I could use in the article? I will of course put your shop link and maybe if you want to give me like a 1 or 2 sentence description of your shop...?? I've already been communicating with one of the ladys of the Southwest voice and she knows about Etsy and was excited about the article idea so I think I could make the print version! :) If you would like to be included, please let me know by Wednesday, August 27th.

Thanks
Jaime
