What a good movie! Set in Columbia starting in the 1870's and spanning fifty years, this movie was beautifully filmed, beautifully acted, and had beautiful background music, including some original songs in Spanish by the ever so talented Shakira.
I can't give away the plot, which really is just a simple love story. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, her father doesn't want her to marry him because he is not wealthy, girl meets wealthy man and settles for a not so happy marriage, and in the end, boy gets girl. Oops, just gave it away!
Anyway, watch this movie, it's a little slow paced but so pretty to watch and I loved the actors and period costumes and the look at life in another time and place. I watched it twice.
