Sleepy Babies

The three little kittens had just been fed, given their meds, and were being cuddled before bed. These are the rescued kittens that were living under a woodpile in our back yard in the 100 degree Bakersfield heat. They had respiratory infections, eye infections, and were dehydrated and constipated. After a trip to the vet for meds, and another trip for enemas they seem to be doing just fine. They are learning to use the litter box, love their bottles, and are getting a little more steady on their feet. We took them with us to a Father's Day barbecue since we couldn't leave them home all day, and they were the center of attention with all the kids there. All the kids wanted to hold them until they started pooping on them.
My husband says after all the money we have spent on them, we're keeping all three, but that is still debatable. I know I want to keep at least one of them, but they're all so cute it'll be really hard to choose just one.

We rescued a litter in our back alley in 2004. We kept 2 sister cats, and it was the best decision ever--they are so closely bonded. They play together, sleep together, groom each other, and gang up on our other 2 kitties together (in a playful way) all the time. So I recommend keeping 2 or more kitty siblings together. Also, I have had cats all my life, and I think it is best to always have 2 or more in the home. Cats that are left alone all day without companionship can get clingy or neurotic. At least when you have 2 or more cats together, they can keep each other company. I wish I lived closer to you because I'd gladly adopt 1 of your kittens when they are weaned and ready. (We used to have 5 cats here.) All 3 of your kittens look happy, healthy and adorable now that you have helped them. You two should be admired and lauded for putting in so much time, love, and effort into these beautiful cats!
