Just a Little Festive

I really think you have to have some small children around to get excited about Christmas. Either that or lots of money so you can just go out and buy yourself some gifts to unwrap. It's difficult for us to get very festive feeling around here since we don't have small children, unless you count the cats, and no money this year to buy ourselves presents. We don't put a tree up, mainly because of those cats and the fact that they would use a tree as a jungle gym. We are both kind of lazy and disorganized so we haven't really created any traditions to carry out each year. However, I did notice that El Torito is going to be open on Christmas so maybe we'll start going there each year for a traditional Christmas dinner of enchiladas. We all know I don't much like to cook, so making a big turkey dinner and all the trimmings for us is kind of out of the question.

Christmas cookies? Yes, they are fun to make but we are not supposed to eat them, and again, no small children around to make cookies for and the cats aren't supposed to have cookies either.

But, I did do a little budget decorating with some fake greenery and sparkly reindeer from the dollar store and the dishes of candy that I mentioned before, the candy that we keep eating. And eating.

So, here is the extent of my holiday cheer.

I did have our little fake tree sitting on the bottom shelf of this cupboard, but it only lasted a day before Buddy noticed it. Back in the closet it went.

Well, you put up more deooration than I do. I haven't even put out the shell garland and shell light string Heather made for me yet. The wreath for the door is hidden somewhere or other and may not be found in time! Oh well, nobody can see into my windows anyway.
The Mimi & Lucy plaque is cute, and it is the one thing displayed at the moment!
